Waltraud Stephan
I was born in Düsseldorf in 1959, have a son and have worked in a Düsseldorf law firm for many years after completing my training as a legal assistant. In volunteering, I find the opportunity to do something for others, to make leisure time meaningful, but also to enjoy community and activities.
So far, I had only volunteered in Düsseldorf, almost "on the doorstep". The association work for Chanzo Kenya offers me completely new perspectives, gives me insights into a different culture and the way of life in Africa. I am particularly motivated and interested in the goal of our association to support the women and children of the Mwandogo village. My hope is that we will be able to sustainably improve the living situation for the villagers. What I particularly appreciate about our charity work is the direct contact with the villagers and through my commitment the opportunity to support and track the progress of our projects, which are specifically tailored to the needs in the village.
